St Brigid's Primary School

Merciful Father,

hear our prayer and console us.

As we renew our faith in Your Son,

whom You raised from the dead,

strengthen our hope that all our departed brothers and sisters

will share in His resurrection,

who lives and reigns with You and the Holy spirit,

one God, for ever and ever, Amen.

Eternal Rest grant unto them, O Lord,

and let perpetual light shine upon them.

May they rest in peace.

Amen.

SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION

We look forward to celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday 15 November at 11:00am. Our teachers, Rebecca Miles and Althea Footman, are currently preparing our students for this Sacrament, with the support of Mike Sibbald (Assistant Principal – Religious Education). Please keep our Confirmation candidates in your Prayers as they prepare for this important step in their faith journey.

YEAR SIX CAMP

Our Year Six students enjoyed camp at Nanga Bush Camp last week (14-16 October 2020). After needing to cancel our camp earlier in the year due to COVID-19 restrictions, it is wonderful that we were able to reschedule this important event. Our campers returned on Friday afternoon tired, but with many great stories and big smiles. Thank you to our Year Six teachers, Rebecca Miles and Althea Footman, for preparing a fantastic experience for the Year Six students. Thanks also goes to Sam Harris, Fiona Verrier, Michelle McKie, Mike Sibbald and Colette Wayne, for accompanying our students throughout the week.

BOOK WEEK

Our annual Book Week parade will be taking place on Wednesday 28 October. The theme for Book Week this year is ‘Curious Creatures, Wild Minds’. Students and staff are encouraged to dress up according to the theme, or as their favourite book character. A parade will take place throughout the day. Please note that parents are not able to attend the parade, due to COVID-19 restrictions.

SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL (SCHOOL BOARD)

As you may be aware, Catholic Education Western Australia Limited (CEWA Ltd) commenced operating on 1 January 2020. CECWA is the board of CEWA Ltd and has responsibility for governing Catholic education in WA. CECWA is currently revising the existing Catholic School Board Constitution to align with CEWA Ltd’s new governance structure. From 2021, the School Board will be referred to as The School Advisory Council.

Elections for School Advisory Council (formerly School Board) for 2021 will take place at the AGM. If you are interested in nominating for the School Advisory Council, please go to https://tinyurl.com/y3zsvvqv to complete the nomination form by Wednesday 4 November.

PRE-KINDY & KINDY 2021

Places for both programs are filling up fast, with our Kindy classes close to capacity. I encourage our existing families, who are yet to enrol their child in Pre-Kindy or Kindy, to do so as soon as possible.

TESTIMONIALS

We are in the final stages of developing our new school website. As a part of this website redevelopment, I would like to include testimonials from parents and caregivers, sharing positive experiences of our school. If you would like to prepare a short testimonial, to be included on our new school website, please email it to admin@stbrigidsms.wa.edu.au. Thank you.

TERM CALENDAR

I remind our community that our term calendar can be found at https://stbrigidsms.wa.edu.au/calendar. This is a live calendar, providing the most up-to-date information to our community.
