Free Presentation App

PearDeck is a free website, that can be used to enable each student in your class to connect to your presentation on any device, answer your interactive questions, and learn from their peers. You can load your preexisting PowerPoint slides and then control the pace at which students progress through your presentation. You can even embed videos and interactive questions. It can even be integrated with Google classroom (paid version).

You can also set it up for students to work individually at their own pace. You could even assign it as homework.

Go to the PearDeck website to sign up for free. Please let us know if you'd like help setting it up, or you'd like a demo. I have a free temporary subscription if you'd like to check out the paid version.

The free version includes:

  • Multiple choice
  • Write text
  • Write a number
  • Non-interactive slides (videos/pictures)

The paid version ($99/year) includes all of the above, and:

  • Drag a dot
  • Drag a line
  • Draw something
  • Take-away
  • Google Classroom integration

iPad Tips

Students often forget their passwords and log-in information when accessing websites in Safari. You can have them set up their iPads to remember their username and password information by going to Settings>Safari>Autofill>Names and Passwords (turn it on). See the video link for directions on setting this up.

Make sure you let students know that anyone can access their websites if they leave their iPad unattended and unlocked. They should set up their iPad with passcode protection. They can also look up their login information by going to Settings>Safari>Passwords.
