The RHE Rattler
January 5, 2021
A Message from Mrs. Frankhouser
When we return tomorrow, we will be welcoming over 100 additional Rattlers to in-person learning, and many remote Rattlers will have new teachers and classes. This will mean that we will be training families on in-person procedures as well as remote procedures. Please be patient and helpful as our team helps everyone through the transition. We are here for you!
For students coming to campus for the first time, please fill out this form to let us know how your child will get home tomorrow.
***REMINDER: NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS January 18th or 19th***
Information for all Rattlers coming to campus for the first time on January 6
The doors open at 7:20am and the tardy bell rings at 7:40am. School is out at 3:00pm.
We are excited to welcome your child to the in-person setting! When your child arrives on tomorrow, we will have adults throughout the building that will help him or her get to the classroom. At this time, we are unable to welcome visitors into the building. Don't worry, we will take great care of our Rattler!
Here is some information that will help you and your child on the first day of in-person learning.
- Dismissal procedures - All students need a car rider tag. You can pick them up in the front office. Otherwise, we can send your car rider tag home with your child in their backpack.
- LTISD Return to School and Covid protocols Masks are required for all students.
- Please register your child in our SMARTTag system. New students to LTISD will be able to register on January 6th. Students returning from the remote setting will be able to register for SmartTag now. This will be used to report absences and make changes to daily dismissal. Go to parent.smart-tag.net to register your child. For questions, you can contact our front desk receptionist, Mrs. Bolles at 737-931-3000.
- School supply information - drop off in the front office or send with your child as you are able
- Transportation information for bus riders - If you plan to use the bus for transportation, PLEASE CALL transportation to make arrangements prior to January 6th. 512 533 6070
- Allergy information - please contact Nurse Mitchell at mitchellmonroet@ltisdschools.org if you have a child with severe allergies that will be joining us in person.
Thank you for trusting us. We can't wait to see your child's smiling face, whether in person or online tomorrow.
Updates Since My last letter to families
Kindergarten - adding a class and a new teacher
We will be creating a new kindergarten classroom. All students joining us on January 6th will be going into the new classroom. We will be hiring a new kindergarten teacher. In the meantime, Jamie Holt, our in house substitute teacher, will be the teacher of record for our new kindergarten students. Mrs. Holt is currently working with the kindergarten team to be ready on January 6th. We are still actively looking for a kindergarten teacher for this position.
First Grade - bringing a remote teacher to the in-person setting
We are welcoming Cassie Jellison as our new in-person first grade teacher! Mrs. Jellison is a newly certified teacher and is joining an amazing first grade team. She can’t wait to meet her students!
All remote 1st graders will be in Mrs. Vaghani’s class.
Special Education - We are adding a new resource teacher.
We have recommended a fantastic candidate and she is in the process with Human Resources now. A sub will be in her place while we wait for her to officially join.
