January Newsletter

Happy New Year, Saint George Families!

Dear Families,

We hope you had a fantastic time with family and friends over our break! May this new year bring you numerous blessings and much happiness!

Registration is now open for the 2019-2020 school year! Our early bird rate special ends February 1st, so don't delay! Also, be sure to apply for financial aid via FACTS. Check out our website for more financial aid information.

Our Box Top War has begun! Remember, the class with the most Box Tops collected at the end of the month will receive a Pizza Lunch and the student who collects the MOST Box Tops will receive a gift card for their extraordinary efforts! So, start clipping those Box Tops and send them in with your student today! (Please make sure your student's entry is clearly marked with his or her name and grade)

On January 7, 2019, courtesy of Councilman Bobby Henon's office, Saint George School's 5th-8th graders will have the opportunity to participate in a CPR training class right here at school! This is all in an effort to equip our students with life-saving knowledge and skills, including how to react during and emergency.

Catholic Schools Week is also coming up at the end of the month. This year's theme is Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed. The teachers and I are working hard to ensure a lot of fun, inspiring, and educational activities occur to engage students in learning! We already have a Caribbean Music Assembly scheduled during CSW and a more detailed list of events will be available soon.

Faculty Spotlight

Miss Plocharski, Third Grade

Miss P returned for her 3rd school year with us! As a graduate of SGS, Miss P is excited for another year with her third graders. They've already learned so much this year - Just ask them about multiplication and you'll be amazed with their knowledge. This year is also a very spiritual year, as 3rd grade prepares for Penance and Holy Communion. Here's to another GREAT year, Miss P!

Miss Sharkus, Fourth Grade

Welcome back for the fifth year, Miss Sharkus! If you have been following us on Facebook, you already know about the amazing scientific feats of her students - from dancing popcorn to particles in motion, 4th grade is full of future scientists! When they are not wowing us with science, Miss Sharkus' students are engaged is some other hands-on activity. It is never a dull moment in 4th grade!
