The first full month of school has flown by!
We're grateful to have welcomed so many of our parents, grandparents, and guardians for special events -- most planned by our parent and booster organizations -- jog-a-thons, family picnics, Farmstead visits, sporting events, and more. We love that our schools are the heart of community.
We appreciate our parent organizations, volunteers and boosters who make things happen for our kids and our families. We see you! Thank you!

🤔 What should parents do when they have a concern?
I met with some parents recently about how to continue to grow a strong connection between schools and parents. One question the parents asked was what to do when a concern arises. The answer is an easy one on most concerns: please talk with your child's teacher or coach. Here's the link for more information.
⚠️ Short break starts Thursday, students return Tuesday
School won't be in session for students Thursday, Oct. 6, Friday, Oct. 7 and Monday, Oct. 10. The first Thursday and Friday in October are traditionally a time for professional development opportunities offered by state level groups for educators. Monday is our own school and district professional development time. Each school posts what they are doing on their websites.
I will not be sending a newsletter next Friday, Oct. 7.
Part of the activities will help us prepare for the upcoming parent/teacher conferences. We appreciate your support for this break!
Mark your calendar for parent teacher conferences
- 🗓️ Oct. 13 - Middle school conferences
- 🗓️ Oct. 19-21- Elementary conferences - early release every day
- 🗓️ Oct. 27 - High school conferences
👀 Food truck provides student real world experiences
A new addition to our culinary arts program is a food truck. (If you attend tonight's varsity football game, they'll have meatball subs, fries and Italian sodas for sale!)
Chef Deb Guinn said the food truck helps the students learn the business part of culinary careers as they plan menus, budget, collect money, and calculate what they've earned.
