FMS BLAST
Monday, November 1st, 2021
Dear Parents:
Well, we all survived the month of October, which is one of the longest months of the school year, as there are no breaks in the schedule. The students and staff worked hard throughout the month on lessons and experiences to grow in their knowledge. Now we welcome in November with the chillier temperatures and the shortened days. At this time of year, it is good to stop and reflect on all there is to be grateful for. I know for myself I am continuously thankful for the wonderful community we have here at Folsom Middle School. The students, staff, and families make my job such a valuable part of my life.
Already this school year we have all grown together as we’ve reconvened into a more traditional school setting. As we are reaching the midpoint of quarter 2 it is as essential as ever for students to remain committed to their studies. We are here to support students and families with whatever help may be needed. Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns.
For all our families that celebrate Diwali, we wish you a bright and special holiday. And for all our families may this time of year bring peace and happiness as bright as the Diwali lights.
With gratitude……
Dr. Daniels
Don’t forget this coming Sunday, November 7th, to turn clocks back one hour as it is the end of Daylight Savings Time. (We gain an hour back.)

This meeting is open to all but is specifically focused on parents of students who are qualified as English Language Learners. Dr. Daniels hopes to see you virtually that evening.

Returning to FMS……LUNCH WITH THE PRINCIPAL!
This month, beginning with Grade 8, there will be a LUNCH WITH THE PRINCIPAL opportunity for students to meet with Dr. Daniels and share student voice on matters that concern students.
Students are encouraged to register in their advisory classes for the opportunity to participate as space is limited to 25 students per group. The first LUNCH WITH THE PRINCIPAL will be Wednesday, November 10th. Lunch will be provided for the students. Please encourage your 8th grader to sign up as their voice matters.
In the past these lunches were very popular, and we hope they will remain so, as Dr. Daniels wants to hear from students on their needs, interests, and wishes for FMS.
