GRE Family Gazette
February 25, 2019
Dear GRE Families,
It was another short but outstanding week at GRE! Thank you to families who attended Thursday nights final Parent/Teacher conferences for the year. PTO provided an awesome dinner for staff on conference night-thank you to those who helped contribute or provide items for this dinner. We wrapped up the week with a visit from the Columbus Zoo thanks to PTO! Students had the chance to see all kinds of animal including a Macaw, Skunk, Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches and many more! They even had the chance to pet an alligator! It was an amazing experience and students did a wonderful job representing GRE during such an exciting event! This will be another exciting week as we celebrate Read Across American week! See below for information about our Spirit Week in honor of Dr. Seuss!
As the calendar turns to March to this week I wanted to give a final reminder about Big Walnuts new volunteer policy which requires a background check. Click here to read more about our volunteer policy that will go into effect this Friday, March 1, 2019.
Here's to a great week full of fun, friends and learning!

Special Spotlight: PE with Mrs. Grieger
We are ending our Table Ball unit this week with grade 1-4. This unit was a ton of fun! The students haven't played before which made for fun and friendly competition. This is something the kids can play at home. All you need is a table and a ball. In Kindergarten, we ended our throwing unit. Ask them about which foot they step with when they throw.
Skatetime is coming up next week. Please note there is a change of rotation days due to the snow day this past week. If you have any questions about this, please let me know. I am looking for volunteers to come and help me between 9:45-3:25. If you haven't done so already, send in your permission slip and $ Monday.
Congrats to this week's Golden Spatula Winners!
