Some thoughts for this Week

Hello Woodsy Owl Families,
I hope you are all enjoying this wonderful Fall weather. Report cards will be coming home this week. They may have some errors related to the attendance count. We are looking into why that is. Many of them are missing absences. If you are concerned and need an accurate count, call or pop-in the office and we can let you know what the real number is.
As we are heading into cold and flu season, I found a few helpful hints to keep our littles healthy and happy. Washing hands is the one hint that ALL medical providers are encouraging. Work with you kiddo to encourage and promote regular hand washing.
We have a lot of activities happening between now and the end of the year. Make sure you are updating your calendar so you don't miss any of the fun.

Woodsy Owls Who Give a Hoot!!
Please join me in extending our heartfelt congratulations to these humans who exemplify the qualities that define a true Woodsy Owl. While numerous Woodsy Owls engaged in acts of helpfulness, demonstrated outstanding behavior, took ownership, and practiced truthfulness over the past few days, these few really went the extra mile. Each of these students has a photo displayed in the front office and received two HOOT LOOTs that can be used to purchase fun rewards.
We Need VOLUNTEERS!!!!
One hour a week can make a difference in the literacy of a child. Sight Word Busters, a Placer County 501(c)3, is recruiting volunteers for the 2023-24 school year. They provide all training and materials. If you want to make a difference in the life of a child, this is the opportunity for you!
This is a fabulous opportunity for a retiree or college student who is looking for a small way to give back to their community.
This program is taking place in all grades except 3rd grade. This is the first year they have expanded to TK. It only takes an hour per week and all training is provided. It’s a fun way to be in the classroom!
Please contact SHS @ 530-878-9473 or ParentSquare and message the principal.
