A Special Request

I would love to see a flood of pictures from Questar III sent to Carl. I have no doubt that his presentation will be spectacular and that it will make a difference. Thanks! Jen

Greetings fellow school librarians,

I am asking for your assistance with an upcoming presentation.

Briefly, I am the School Library System Director at Nassau BOCES (#22 on the map), http://www.nysl.nysed.gov/libdev/slssap/slslinks.htm , and I recently submitted a proposal to present at the New York State School Boards Association meeting in New York City which will be held in October 2015.

I am asking you to take photos of the events that you have happening in your school library. It could be a poetry slam, a maker space, a TED conference, an author visit, a group research project or something else related and SAVE THEM.

My goal is to show how school libraries across New York State, via the state-wide School Library System, are an integral part of the curriculum and Common Core instruction, and we have fun doing it!

By mid-April, I should know if my presentation was selected, and then I will ask again for you to send your material. Photo credit will be given for material used in the presentation as [School, District, School Library System]

Anything that cannot fit, we will place on our LibGuide and share it out for everyone to view, again with credit. If I am not selected, then you have material for your end of year newsletter or to send over for inclusion for your district’s Budget Vote newsletter.

I thank you in advance for your support.

Regards,

Carl
