Everyone Can Create
The Learning Journey Begins Here
Take Creativity to the Next Level
The Everyone Can Create resources are a series of five iBooks (four student guides and one teacher guide) that focus on the use of drawings, music, videos and photos to bring creative activities into every content area. Each book consists of skill-building lessons, student work examples and assessment items as well as the steps needed to help everyone learn.
Imagine the amazing things students can do when teachers combine powerful creation tools from Apple with thoughtful task development! Read on to learn more about why being innovative is essential and how you can foster creativity using an iPad in conjunction with the Everyone Can Create iBooks...
Why Creativity Matters
Research has shown that creative expression leads to deeper student engagement. And when students are more engaged, they take more ownership of their learning. Students become better problem solvers, communicators, and collaborators. They explore more and experiment more. They tell richer stories and find their own unique voices. They stretch their imaginations and make connections they might not otherwise make — and ultimately, utilize all of these skills in school... And beyond!
In his popular TED talk, Sir Ken Robinson made the powerful point that most of the students doing work in your classrooms today will be entering a job force that none of you can visualize. That talk is from almost 13 years ago, so we already know he was right and can only assume he’ll continue to be so in the years to come.
Learning a specific skill set doesn’t have the value in today’s world that it once did. Learning how to be more creative (and thus adaptable) – now that’s what prepares students for life beyond the classroom. (Excerpt from http://www.edudemic.com/creativity-in-the-classroom)

Drawing
Drawing encourages the mind to observe the world more closely, consider how things are put together and how they work. It lets students articulate concepts that exist only in their imaginations, in ways words just can’t. Students will learn skills like balance and symmetry, making lines, shapes, shading, color, and texture so they can illustrate with word art, doodling, portraits, and logo design.
Music
Music helps us enrich and tell more powerful stories. Learning the building blocks of verses, chorus, and bridges from songs you’re already familiar with builds confidence in creating music of your own. Students will learn to create and sample beats, arrange tracks, and record vocals. They’ll learn chord structure, drum beats, and song composition so they can open up new ways to convey themes and ideas with music.
Video
Video gives students a powerful means of interpreting ideas, expressing their thoughts, informing, influencing, and inspiring their audience. Using iPad cameras along with Clips and iMovie, students will learn about composition, lighting, camera angles, pacing, and how to establish setting to construct strong narratives through documentaries, live events, and short films.
