Mrs. Ciminera’s Weekly Update
Week of 9/11
Welcome to the first FULL week of school at SCJN! We are halfway through and it has been such a fantastic week! All the students from PreK3 to 8th grade are here and our hallways and classrooms are filled with so much joy and learning. It is the best to see!
I hope you have all been adjusting well to the routines of a new school year. I know it can be difficult but you are all doing an AMAZING job!
Thank you for continuing to be patient as we all get used to drop off and pick up! Those dropping of in K-8, please PULL ALL the way up to the sign! 4-5 cars should unload at one time. If you turn right after drop off and there is a bus, you MAY pass the bus as long as the STOP sign is not up. PLEASE continue to drive slowly. K to 8 parents DO NOT get out of their cars to help students. PreK parents may get out to help their child and walk them to the teacher. You are all doing a great job and we will be pros in no time! :)
It has been great to see new and familiar faces at our Back to School Nights. We will have our last one this Thursday for 6-8 grade with doors opening at 6:00pm for paying Home and School dues, signing up to volunteers, and purchasing Spiriwear. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to come to school to meet our amazing teachers! It sure sets everyone up for a successful year!
Tomorrow we have our very first Pizza Thursday of the year! This is a long time tradition at SCJN and one of everyone's favorites! I am so grateful to the parents and grandparents who run Pizza Thursday! Each week you will have to complete a Google Form for your child to let us know how many slices($3.00 a slice) and if they are getting ice cream($1.00). All forms are due by 8:30am Thursday morning and all money should be brought to school on Thursday as well. The link is at the bottom of the Saint Scoop, you will be able to find it there each week! Please only pay for ONE week at a time.
On Friday we will have our Opening of School Liturgy at 9:15am. After the Mass, our Student Council Leadership team along with our 4th to 8th grade Student Council and Social Justice representatives will be installed. We hope many of you can join us as we start the year off asking God to bless our school and students.
We will finish off our first week of school with a visit from the Kona Ice Truck thanks to Home and School! The ice truck will visit on Friday afternoon and all students and teachers will be treated!
There is a wonderful Family Faith event happening at St. John Neumann Church this weekend, there is more information below.
I hope you have all marked your calendars for next weekend, one of the very best at SCJN! On Friday, 9/22 we will have Pizza Bingo at 5pm (link below) and then Saturday we will have the CYO Saints Stomp at 9:00am. I will be sending out registration information for that in a separate communication.
Here is to a fabulous first week of school!! And the best school year ever at SCJN!
