Welcome to Lion Country
Mr. Alston comes to us as a Norfolk State University graduate. He also serves as an assistant football coach at Ocean Lakes High School.
Lindsey Shoemaker - Music Teacher
Mrs. Shoemaker comes to us directly from Rhode Island where she was a music teacher. She also taught in Hawaii.
Patricia Rogerson - Title I Reading Specialist
Ms. Rogerson comes to us from Salem Middle School where she served as an AVID teacher. As Susan Baumgardner moves into the role of Reading Specialist, we are excited to welcome Ms. Rogerson as Title I Reading Specialist.
Missy Bogle - Title I Interventionist
Mrs. Bogle is a retired reading teacher from VBCPS. The last couple of years she has worked as a tutor with VBCPS and through private schools.

Title I Conference Registration is Now OPEN!
Let's PACK THE HOUSE with Lions at the
6th Annual Title I Summer Conference on August 15th!
SHOW OUR LYNNHAVEN PRIDE AND WEAR OUR GREEN AND YELLOW!
This conference is for administration, classroom teachers, and specialists.
All interested participants should complete the Google form by July 15 at the latest. Slots are limited and on a first-come basis, so early registration is encouraged.
This registration will allow participants to select a lunch and choose two first choice break-out sessions. It will also ask for two second choice break-out sessions in case the first choices are full. We are very excited about these opportunities.
The conference will be at Green Run High School on August 15 from 8:30-3:30 (registration starting at 7:45 a.m.).
2019-2020 Professional Learning Program
Each person is responsible for their ESSENTIAL sessions outlined in the below memo. ESSENTIAL means mandatory.
Access to Classrooms
Flex Day - August 22nd
• The flex day only applies to the following group of employees (per the Employee Work Schedule Calendar for School Year 2019-2020):
- All teachers whose schedule begins on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019.
- Library media assistants and school nurses
• Staff who do not attend on August 22 may extend the workday during the first two weeks in November to prepare report cards and hold parent conference. The employees will keep a log of time worked and will be provide that information to the timekeeper at their school.
• Eligible employees who do not choose to make use of the flex day and who do not wish to report on August 22 may choose to take personal reasons leave with approval of the building principal.
