We truly do ALL things Well!
Instructional Focus
I know you agree with me that this has been a crazy week, but can I say it was also a great week! See we are in a true “just do it” stage! Yes, I know that is NIKE’s logo, but it is true. We have had so much PD, we have met, we meet, we are meetingJ to execute what we glean from PD and now, honestly is the time to “just do it”! It’s no different from where we are with scholars. We have been teaching them all year, and we started off with heavy lifting and now we are trying to wean them off successfully. We are literally in the guiding stage them. You know the moves to make, you just need to do it! Even if it’s with new information, we know that if they activate prior knowledge it will help them in new learning. So let’s focus on ensuring this week and moving forward we “Just do it”.
Mr. Bearfield captured this moment of Mrs. Williams in her daily morning routine. What joy! I have seen her do it multiple times as its her daily routine.

Promotion in Doubt Meetings: Have you been consistent with Parent communication?
Teachers let's make sure that parents are not caught off guard with these conversations. Let's ensure that you have been communicating and giving interventions and have data to show that none of the attempts have worked, and that it is definitely in the best interest of this scholar. I will definitely stand and support you in this decision. Remember we hurt scholars when we don't document and communicate with parents, until the end, because this pushes parents to make emotional decisions and NOT the best decisions.
STAAR Online Training Modules:
Re-Enrollment:
Re-enrollment for scholars has officially began. Similar to last year, the class and grade level that reaches 100% enrollment first will receive a prize. Please make sure to send home bloomz messages to parents to remind them to re-enroll their scholar for the 2020-2021 school year. If there are any questions regarding re-enrollment codes or the process, please direct the parents to Eva calvario.

Duke Tip Scholars
We know that many of us have been asking how we can best meet the needs of our highest performing scholars, in order to help them reach their highest potential. One option that was presented in the past and is now an opportunity is to have eligible scholars participate in the Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP). The Duke TIP program is available to 4th graders and above and provides opportunities and support for high achieving scholars.
The scholars that are eligible at Peak for the Duke TIP Program are attached.
In addition to having a master list of the eligible scholars at our school, I’ve included the link to resources on the Duke TIP website (https://tip.duke.edu/) - open in Chrome as Internet Explorer will block this site). Listed below is the general information and the eligibility requirements. The scholars attached met the eligibility using NWEA MAP or STAAR.
