Wishing you and your family a safe, restful, fun and family filled holiday! See you in 2020!

Happy Holidays!

The month of December has been a whirlwind of different events and activities for our students. We have had a big month for clubs, a school dance, field trips, countless fun classroom activities and many opportunities to demonstrate generosity to those in need.

As we wrap up our final school week of 2019, we would like to wish you a wonderful holiday break and enjoy spending extra time with your families.

2nd and 3rd Grade Jingle Run

This Wednesday, our second and third grade students will be participating in their run. Please note, third grade's run time is different from their normal specials schedule. They will be running from 9:40-10:30. Second grade's time will be 8:45-9:35. Also, due to the races, kindergarten and first grade will have a different lunch time on Wednesday. Parents coming to watch will need to bring their ID.

A Message from Mrs. Gamboa...

Please review the AR Fun Day letter, from October, to remind your child of the criteria to earn this super fun day.

E-Book Collection

Our E book collection contains most of the 2019-2020 SSYRA books along with a few audio books.

You will have 14 days to read, but if you finish early simply go into the account and click RETURN. This will free the copy for someone else and allow your child to check out another ebook.

To access Sora program in the browser,

visit or download the Sora app (Apple or Android) and search for Oasis. Students will sign in using their Oasis Google account username and password.

Username: first

Password: Children in grades 3-5 know their passwords

A letter containing this information was sent home in September.

Please utilize this wonderful resource and CHECK OUT and RETURN often.

Rainbow Reading

The K-2 Rainbow Reading Program is in full swing now. All students received the red reading log at the beginning of the school year. As you and your child read the books listed on the sheet and it is returned during their library visit, they will spin for a prize and receive the next colored log.

The goal is for students to read through the colors of a rainbow and reach "PURPLE". Then they will join us during our Purple People Party in May. During this party, students will wear purple, and eat purple foods, play games, and enjoy time with other readers.

If you need another red sheet, please send an email and include the student and his or her teacher's name to the request. This is a fun time for your child to explore books in varying genres from your home and public library. Also, they can search for books in the school library during their Specials visit.

Thank you for supporting your child's education.

Mind Up Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Curriculum

This week in MindUP, students will continue to learn about Lesson 9: Mindful Movement.

(To learn more about this curriculum visit Mind Up.)

Lunch Visitors in the Cafeteria

Thank you to everyone for following our rotating lunch schedule. We greatly appreciate your cooperation.

This Wednesday, Kindergarten is switching their lunch time. If you are planning on eating lunch with your Kindergarten student on that day, check with your child's teacher to make sure you know the changed time.

Also, because Friday is an Early Dismissal day, we will not be able to accommodate visitors for lunch.

Our new schedule for lunch days by grade level will begin January 13th. Until then, we will continue to use the schedule below.

Fortify App

The app, which is available for download on Apple and Android mobile devices, is critical to ensuring all Florida schools are safe environments where students and educators can experience and share the joy of learning without fear. FortifyFL is a suspicious activity reporting tool that allows you to instantly relay information to appropriate law enforcement agencies and school officials.

The Florida Legislature directed this tool’s development in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act. For more information visit:
