AMHS Weekly Update
January 10, 2022 - January 14, 2022
WELCOME BACK!!!!
Welcome Back to the Spring 2022 Semester!!!! We are extremely excited about this semester and all that it has to offer. Students will return to in-person learning on Monday, January 10th. As we begin this new semester, please encourage your student to start this semester strong by engaging in learning every day, managing their time to ensure all assignments are completed by scheduled deadlines, and studying daily.
DCSD is consistently monitoring the positive COVID cases throughout the district. To ensure the safety of everyone, masks will be mandatory at all times while on campus and on the buses this semester. The exception will only be when someone is eating breakfast or lunch. Students must place their masks back on their faces after eating. The mask must come all the way up over the nose and all the way down under the chin. When selecting a mask, please choose a mask without exhalation valves or vents that allow virus particles to escape. For more information in selecting the right type of mask for school, please visit CDC’s Guide to Masks. Face shields can be worn; however, a mask must be worn with a shield as well.
DCSD continues to implement the CDC's mitigation strategies and other strategies to lower the risk of transmission of COVID-19 in schools. You are encouraged to review this information and encourage your family to adhere to the guidelines and protocols shared on the district’s website (DCSD Updated Readiness Guide).
We encourage students to wash and/or sanitize their hands frequently and social distance to the greatest extent possible. Students may also want to carry a clear refillable water bottle, personal hand sanitizer, and extra masks while at school for their convenience. Please encourage your student to exercise the mitigation strategies that are in place to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
At AMHS, we are committed to keeping our students, faculty, and staff safe during these unprecedented times.
Thank you for your continued support!

DCSD Social Media Guidelines for Students
Parents,
It is important that our scholars represent themselves in a positive manner online and think about what they post on social media outlets. One question to always think about is, "Would my post look good to college admissions counselors or employers?" Encourage your student to assume that someone is always observing their online actions.
