In the classroom, social studies teachers could use this app to get their students to research local (or global) landmarks and report their findings on it. It could potentially be a relevant alternative to an essay.

Social Studies Friendzy
There are various levels of difficulty and students can compete with children from all over the world, and their progress is documented so it could be assessed by their teacher or parents. In the classroom this app could be used as an equivalent to the 'mad minute; to drill students in the essentials and provide instructors with a better idea of their students' individual learning situation.

Encyclopaedia Britannica Lite
This app could be used for in-class research essays or tests, allowing students a wide variety of source options.

This app could be used as a visual lesson on the locations of Provinces, territories or states.

PCMRecorder
This app would be very good in a music class. Teachers could get their students to write and record musical demos which could then be played back to the class for feedback or assessment.
