Cool Tech Tool
Pic Stitch
Pic Stitch is a free and simple to use app that is available on all ACS iPads. Using these fun photo collages is a great way to make lessons engaging. Photos can be found online (Creative Commons, Pics4Learning, etc) or students may take their own photos to demonstrate concepts. A photo collage is also a great way to document events and happenings in the classroom.
Check out the collections of ideas below:
Ideas for Using Pic Stitch in the Classroom:
Procedural Writing
Pic Stitch as a way for students to share steps in procedural writing.
Verbs
Pic Stitch as a tool to show what you learned from a unit.

OSMO in Action for JNES Kindergarteners
Kindergarten students at JNES are enjoying something new their school purchased for use with their iPads. OSMO is a cool tool that comes with real hands-on manipulatives such as letter tiles and tangram pieces that work with the iPad via a camera reflector. OSMO's accompanying apps help students develop reading, math, science, and art skills. If you've never seen an OSMO in action, take a look at these JNES kindergarteners manipulating shapes to create ramps in "Newton", OSMO's physics-based app.
Contact a JNES Kindergarten teacher if you'd like more information on these. :)
