Nathan F. Period:5

In a lush green forest with relatively dirty, but murky waters aquatic leeches lurk. They aren't deadly animals, but they can still be harmful. Aquatic leeches are common in lakes, wells, and springs. So in South-eastern Turkey leeches have been contaminating the waters with diseases they carry. Since the people from those sources so they have been exposed to the diseases like melena, hemophytis, and dyspena.

Even though leeches aren't deadly creatures. They still can cause havoc.

Although, leeches are not just trouble-causing maggots. They can be good in some ways. They can be used in medication and have been important in civilization that doesn't have much medical knowledge. This is because they are able to suck venom or infection out of a wound. In fact, they were so popular in the Middle Ages that they almost went in extinct!

Leeches have two main suckers used for movement and feeding. The head sucker houses the jaw. The jaw has saw-like rows of teeth. The outer ring of each sucker is muscular and clamps on to victims after making an opening with the jaw making it finally able to start causing clot in the wound. This process can either be good or bad for the victim.

You also don't have to worry about leeches being used for medication being expensive, because they can be found almost anywhere in the world. It is also a very successful species. It is not even close to extinction.
