Auschwitz 1 was one of the 3 main camp. It was one of Auschwitz labor camps. Instead of focusing on extermination the forced prisoners to dehumanizing acts and labor. Birkenau
Birkenau was the second of the 3 camps at Auschwitz. This cam was the first people would end up at and determined if you lived or died. Between the years 1940 and 1945, 1,095,000 Jewish people were deported to Auschwitz Birkenau 960,000 were killed. It is estimated that in total 1.3 million people ended up at Auschwitz Birkenau and 1.1 million died. Prisoners at his camp were either sent to execution or sent to Auschwitz 1 for hard labor. One evil person at Auschwitz Bernanke was the Nazi scientist Joseph Mengele.
