Wrestling Takes 3rd in 24 Team Lee's Summit Tournament

The Varsity Boys Wrestling program traveled to Lee's Summit on Friday and Saturday to compete in the 24 team Lee's Summit Holiday Tournament. Our Vikings brought home third place and were able to place seven wrestlers in the medal round. Josh Kyle and Ryan Skillington brought home championships in the two day tournament. Congratulations to the following Vikings that medaled at the tournament!

Eric Lovelace (15-2) placed 3rd and scored 28.5 team points.

Josh Kyle (18-0) placed 1st and scored 41.5 team points.

Ben Wright (12-4) placed 5th and scored 20.0 team points.

Hayden Trazek (16-2) placed 3rd and scored 26.5 team points.

Kentrell Simmons (8-9) placed 6th and scored 19.0 team points.

Gunnar Mohrmann (14-4) placed 5th and scored 23.5 team points.

Ryan Skillington (16-1) placed 1st and scored 41.0 team points.

Girls Wrestling Medals At McCluer Tournament

The Girls Wrestling team had a strong performance at the McCluer Tournament on Thursday. Our Lady Vikings had nine wrestlerts finish in the top three in the tournament. Congratulations to the following girls wrestlers on a great tournament and start to their season!

Over 1500 Attend First Home Friday Night Basketball Games Of Season

The Girls and Boys Basketball programs hosted their first home Friday night games of the season this past Friday and our Viking fans did not disappoint. The stands were full on Friday night as the Vikings took on FHC at the varsity and JV level. The Varsity Boys and JV Girls programs earned wins over FHC while the Varsity Girls and JV Boys had close losses on the night. Thank you to all of our students, staff, parents and fans for creating such a great high school environment on Friday night. As we head into Holiday break you can view a quick recap of the season so far for the boys and girls programs.

Girls Swim Medals In 8 Of 10 Events At FZN Panther Relays

Friday afternoon our Girls Swim program competed in the FZN Panther Relays. It was a great afternoon in the pool as our Lady Vikings medaled in eight of ten events at the meet. Congratulations to the following swimmers on their great results at the FZN Panther Relays!

The Howell Speech & Debate team is off to a promising start. This season they have many first time members of the team that are competing. This group continues to learn a lot and will compete again in January. If you anyone is interested in joining Speech & Debate, they can see Coach Beckmann. FCCLA Partners To Adopt-A-Family For The Holidays

For the third year in a row, the Family/Consumer Sciences Department along with FCCLA, gave back to the community during the holiday season. The two groups partnered with Francis Howell Middle School to make the season brighter for one of our FHMS families who was faced with significant financial difficulties. Thank you to these Vikings for giving back!

On Friday morning the Boys Basketball program recognized our faculty and staff with breakfast. This yearly tradition is our basketball programs way of making our staff aware of how thankful they are to have them at Howell. Freshman Boys Basketball Volunteers With Helping Hands For The Holidays

This past week the Freshman Boys Basketball program volunteered with the Helping Hands for the Holidays organization. Helping Hands for the Holidays is a free event that seeks to assist members of the community in need by providing a warm holiday meal and community resources that include: health care services, winter clothing and personal care items, and activities for families. Our Vikings helped to serve meals and handed out coats to those in need in St. Charles County during this great event. Thank you to the Freshman Boys Basketball program for being such a positive representative of Howell in our community!

Wrestling Program Hosts Toys For Tots Drive

The Howell Wrestling program hosted their annual Toys For Tots drive during their dual this past week. Wrestlers, parents and fans were able to donate over 40 toys to the Toys for Tots drive. Thank you to everyone that attended this yearly tradition and that donated to this great cause. Serving our community is a major focus of Howell activities, clubs and sports and we are glad to see the continued support.

Viking Leadership Academy Donates To Lutheran Senior Services

This past week the Viking Leadership Academy came together for a great cause. VLA held a drive to support local seniors in our community in need through Lutheran Senior Services. The drive helped to support senior citizens in our area with an annual income under $12,000. Students donated toiletries, soaps, and other health care items . Thank you to all students that attended VLA on Wednesday and that supported this great cause.

Thank you to Viking Way for their leadership and involvement in our community. This holiday season Viking Way members have adopted a family in need in our community. This past week they went shopping for their family. The Viking Way is one of over 26 programs that have already served our community during the first semester.
