Sunny Hill Library's Curbside Pick-up of library books to check out!
All 2nd - 5th grade students are able to check out library books to read at home! Simply follow the steps listed below:
1. Students request library books from the Sunny Hill Library by placing them on Hold
via Destiny. We have practiced this in Library class.
2. The holds will be processed by library staff once a week. Staff will wear gloves and
masks.
3. The books will be checked out to the student, sealed in a bag, and marked with the date
and student name.
4. The labeled bags will be placed on a table in the lobby of the school.
5. Parents/Guardians will be emailed that the books are ready for pick up. Please do not
come to pick up books until you receive this email.
6. Any bags not picked up after 10 days will be removed from the lobby, checked in, and
reshelved.
7. When you come to pick up new books, previously checked out library books may be
returned and placed in quarantine bins in the lobby.
Also for 2nd - 5th graders: Ebooks are available 24 hours a day in the Sora app on our student iPads.

Nurse Notes ~ Ms. Finegan
COVID-19 cases are rising rapidly in our community. Take ANY illness symptoms seriously. If anyone in your household begins showing any illness symptoms:
1. Have the individual showing symptoms get tested for COVID-19.
2. If the test is positive, ALL household members should quarantine.
3. Wait 5 days from when the positive individual started showing symptoms to test the rest of the household members.
4. If household members come out negative, they should still quarantine for 14 days since the last exposure to the positive individual.
5. If any household member develops symptoms, even after they tested negative, they should call their doctor to see if they should get tested again.
There is free daily testing available at the Arlington Heights Racetrack (2000 W Euclid Ave, Arlington Heights, IL) from 8:00am – 4:00pm. There is normally a very long wait – Arrive early in the day to ensure that you get a test!
If someone in your household tests positive, or if you have any questions, please contact the Nurse, Ms. Finegan, at 847-844-4224 or tfinegan@barrington220.org.
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) ~ Mr. De La Mora, Assistant Principal
Hello Sunny Hill Families,
Last month, we shared our Distance Learning Matrix for our Positive Actions Within Sunny Hill (PAWS) program. There you can find the school expectations for all of our students. These expectations are constantly addressed by teachers and students during distance learning to help students be successful. If you have had the chance to see our school morning announcements, we have been highlighting some of the most relevant expectations, such as “Utilize digital platforms with their intended purpose,” and “Use learning tools appropriately.” These two expectations are especially important due to the nature of our current learning environment, and for all of our students to Be responsible, Be respectful, and Be safe. School and families must work together supervising the correct use of our Tigers’ learning tools. Thank you for all of your help! I am here to help you, and to give our students the opportunities to be the best version of themselves that they can be.
Please do not hesitate to contact me at (847) 426-4232 or via email at edelamora@barrington220.org.
