#KnollsStrong
As I sit in my office writing this message, I am looking out into an empty senior parking lot, empty hallways and empty classrooms. It feels so strange and somewhat surreal. I am sure you are experiencing similar feelings and emotions.
These are certainly unprecedented times navigating through unchartered waters. We are being inundated with information regarding the pandemic by the media and it is monopolizing our thoughts and wellbeing. The future of the school year is uncertain, but what is certain is that we are all in this together and we will get through this together because We Are KNOLLS STRONG!.
Our phenomenal staff has met the needs of our students by developing virtual online lessons using Google Classroom, Google Hangout, and many other online resources. Our goal is to be as flexible as possible for our students and families throughout this whole process. We are providing meals to families in need, providing internet and resources to families, and we are here for you!
Our counselors and case managers will continue to work with you on scholarship applications, college process, and post high school plans. They will also be available for any of your general needs. Please reach out to your counselors with any questions or help you need!
Feel free to reach out anytime with any concerns or questions you might have. You can reach me anytime at rmacnaughton@mhrd.org.

The National Art Honor Society has once again participated in the charitable donation of artwork to the Memory Project Organization. The Memory Project is dedicated to promoting intercultural awareness, friendship, and kindness between children around the world through the universal language of art.
Our NAHS students created 40 portraits as special gifts for refugee children in Malaysia. These children and their families do not have legal status or rights and often live in impoverished pockets of large cities, earning money for food in any way they can. The children are not entitled to education or healthcare. The Memory Project has partnered with a charity that runs a wonderful school for these children, offering them both education and hope.

Morris Knolls Recognizes February as Teen Dating, Violence, and Awareness Month
February was Teen Dating Violence and Awareness Month. ONE in THREE adolescents in the U.S. is a victim of physical, sexual, emotional or verbal abuse from a dating partner. Our Teen Leadership Council, under the leadership of Ms. Emma Evans and Ms. Danielle Van Der Veken, sponsored many events to educate our students.
For our main event, TLC hosted a Healthy Relationships presentation with keynote speakers.
1. Lieutenant Heather (Jones) Glogolich of the Morris Township Police Department is an advocate and a survivor of domestic violence. She is a proud Morris Knolls alumna and is excited to be speaking at her alma mater!
2. Co-founder of Angel Energy, Sarah Ripoli, is an East Coast fashion blogger who aspires to raise domestic violence awareness; and specifically be a voice for children who lost a parent to domestic violence. Sarah lost her mother to domestic violence at the age of six.
Thank you to all of our presenters for sharing their stories and helping to make a difference in the lives of our students.
