An Update from Principal Lenart
October 9, 2022
Dear Lake Forest High School Faculty, Staff, Students, and Families:
Good morning. I am writing with an update about yesterday’s incident.
As a result of the combined efforts between our LFHS Administration and the Lake Forest Police Department, we have identified and confirmed the individuals that were involved in the graffitied evacuation map found in the bathroom yesterday that led to the evacuation and then temporary closing of LFHS’s East Campus.
The graffiti is reported as having been written with the intent to cause additional concern for the safety and security of our building with no actual plan to do so. LFPD has confirmed that the individuals do not have access to weapons.
While we cannot identify the individuals or discuss any specifics related to the police or our investigation, we want to underscore that our leadership team takes any threat made against the school with utmost seriousness and will act accordingly.
We are thankful for our continued partnership with the LFPD and their dedication to the safety of our school and community. We also want to commend the students and staff who reported the map to our leadership team. As I have said before, we are stronger when we are together, and if you see something, say something.
Yours most respectfully,
Erin
