Rock Hill Review

Opening Up
Another interesting take away that has come from our interviews is the number of people who are reading this newsletter. We've had so many applicants refer back to it and how the Core Values our kids created made such an impact on them. If you are one of those people who is reading this right now and you 100% believe you can live out those core values each day at Rock Hill, WE WANT YOU! I love hearing that people are going to be invested enough in our kids and what we are building at Rock Hill that they are taking the time each week to stay up to date on what is going on. Most importantly, it tells me that they understand we are creating a school for OUR KIDS and they will be the driving force behind every decision we make. So please do not hesitate to reach out if you want to be a part of something great at THE ROCK!!!
Tip411 is a new tool to enhance student safety. It is an internet-based communication system that gives students or any concerned citizen a means to quickly and anonymously report threats, potential self-harm, concerns, suspicious or criminal behavior at school or beyond school hours regarding PISD schools, students and/or staff.
When you submit a tip through any of the options below, it is sent to a 3rd party tip service acting as a privacy buffer between you and the Prosper ISD Police Department to preserve your identity and contact information. Cultural Responsiveness Training with Dr. Kimberly McLeod
Prosper ISD Leaders and Counselors at all levels attended Cultural Responsiveness training last week with Dr. Kimberly McLeod. Dr. McLeod has been a public educator for over twenty years. She has served in various roles including that of Teacher, Counselor, Administrator and a University Professor. Her research has been published nationally and internationally and she lectures all over the world. Dr. McLeod believes in advocating for disadvantaged populations by equipping systems to adequately prepare and deliver services to populations equitably, efficiently, and effectively. Her research interests include topics regarding resilience and creating culturally responsive classrooms.
The Leaders and Counselors in Prosper ISD walked away from their time with Dr. McLeod inspired and motivated to serve all students at a higher level. Professional Development and preparation are necessary tools in order to protect the academic prosperity of our diverse learners. Prosper ISD looks forward to continuing with training opportunities for the larger staff population moving forward.
RHHS Students at Work
"FOREVER BLUE, CLASS OF '22"
That is the motto for what will be our Junior class next year! By an overwhelming majority, the students decided that this would be the motto to represent their class. We will put this on their class banner, have them sign it and then hang in the arena until they graduate. Can't wait to see what the other classes come up with!
Once we return from Winter Break, an exciting occasion we have scheduled is to begin designing the RHHS letter jackets! A meeting will be held after school on Wednesday, January 15 at 4:15 pm in the PHS Cafeteria for any students who are interested in being a part of that process.
Please see the information on the upcoming events as we begin meeting with our Classes of 2023 and 2024 in the coming months!
If a student is not currently on the list to be drafted for the RHHS class meetings during Eagle Time and would like to be, please have them email the Campus Secretary, Erin Jones (eljones@prosper-isd.net) so they can be added. If a student is also drafted by a teacher during the Rock Hill High School meeting times, that will take priority over the RHHS meeting.
And the Rock Hill High School Crest is....
