FULL STEAM AHEAD
December 18, 2015
Message from Administration
Because some of you have asked.... the building will be open on Monday, January 4th from 8am to 4pm.
I am excited to announce that Gwin Oaks has been accepted into the 2nd cohort of the Gwinnett PBL (Problem Based Learning) grant! We have been invited to send a team of 6 educators to the Buck Institute this summer for intensive training on PBL unit writing. Jillian and I will be joining Michelle Webb, Jan Bradley, Albert McDaniel, Terica Peek, Tina Cramer, and Crissy Robison for this opportunity. We will also be receiving $3,000 in equipment for our STEAM lab! This is a great chance for us to take our STEAM program to the next level!
Our 5th grade chorus has been quite busy! Last Friday, we enjoyed our time at the Gladiator's game! Last night, we had a packed house for our holiday concert. They did a GREAT job! After going to Cannon yesterday plus two more shows today, Ms. Collins deserves a break! I am giving her next week off. LOL! Thank you, Claire, for all the hard work!
Please secure all of your technology items in a desk or cabinet, inside your classroom. This includes: student laptops, Mimios, document cameras, tablets, and/or any other technology device in your classroom. All student laptops that belong to a cart, must be placed back in the their respective carts, locked and left in your room.
It is my recommendation that you take your laptop with you over the break. If you would like me to store your laptop, please deliver your laptop to my office, by end of day Friday. Please make sure your laptop bag is labeled with your name on the outside.
If you have any questions, please let Tom know.
Please turn in your preference forms to my box before leaving today! Thanks!
