Daily Admin Update
Day 46
Good Morning,
Starting May 1, the County of San Diego will require the public to wear face coverings when within six feet of other people.
The announcement was made on April 24 when county leaders encouraged residents begin following the guidelines immediately.
The new public health order will require you to wear a facial covering when you leave your homes and are within six feet of others outside the home. If you are having difficulty securing a mask you can make one. If you need assistance with this please contact me at sarah@sdccs.org so that I can help you. Your children should be wearing one as well.
I went to school yesterday and saw that they are taping off the windows in preparation for the stucco, so exciting.
Some of you may have heard about Gov. Newsom's call to have schools begin in July or August. That was the first we have heard of this. I am waiting to see how this information plays out, we will not have a physical location to attend before our scheduled time. We are on track to begin the year in the new building.
Hopes rise with drug trial’s early results
Initial results showed the experimental drug remdesivir could speed recovery in patients infected with the coronavirus, Dr. Anthony Fauci (my hero), the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said on Wednesday.
In a federal trial, the time to recovery averaged 11 days among those who received the drug, and 15 days for those who got a placebo. The improvement “doesn’t seem like a knockout 100 percent,” Dr. Fauci said, but “it is a very important proof of concept, because what it has proven is that a drug can block this virus.”
The news comes as the Trump administration is working on a crash development program for a vaccine that could be widely distributed by the beginning of next year.

Beaches Closed Again?
OS ANGELES - A source has provided FOX 11 investigative reporter Bill Melugin with a law enforcement bulletin that will be sent out to all California police chiefs notifying them that Gov. Newsom will announce Thursday that he is closing all beaches and state parks effective Friday, May 1st.
The decision comes after Newsom sharply criticized beachgoers in Orange County for crowding beaches by the thousands this past weekend.
"I laid out in very detailed terms yesterday, the strategy for California to make meaningful changes to our stay-at-home order,” said Governor Newsom during his daily news conference. "Orange County has the fourth-highest number of people of all 58 counties, hospitalized in the state of California. I’m concerned about that."
"We wanted to give all of our members a heads up about this in order to provide time for you to plan for any situations you might expect as a result, knowing each community has its own dynamics," said, in part, the bulletin. "State Parks personnel will be out in to help support local efforts as well"
