Principal Message
Dearest Monte Vista Families,
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! I am thrilled to be the new principal of this incredible school and to become part of the Monte Vista community. I have had the pleasure of meeting a few families and I look forward to meeting many more in the next few weeks. Your students are the reason that we are all here and it is our goal to give them a place where they can grow, take risks, and belong.
We have the privilege and the responsibility of welcoming all students back in person this year.
Here are a few tips to start school right:
- Eat a healthy breakfast before you come to school. Breakfast will not be served on campus in the morning and the district is working on getting breakfast to students in the afternoon to take home for the next day.
- Get a good night's sleep. Go to bed early and get into a good routine for the start of school on Tuesday, August 16th.
- READ SING PLAY! Any songs, language games, or books that you sing, play, or read with your child daily can make all the difference in making them college and career ready.
This is going to be an incredible year of learning, laughter, new friends, and growth. Our teachers are working very hard to make their classrooms warm and inviting for your students. We strive to create a place where mistakes are celebrated as opportunities to grow and where everyone feels like they belong.
It is my honor to become part of the Monte Vista family to support our students, teachers, staff, and MVS community. I am here for you. Feel free to email or call me with any questions you may have. rachel_galdamez@crpusd.org, 707-792-4531
With respect,
Rachel Galdamez
Principal
