What's Happening?

BEA K-8 Media Center September/October 2012

We have been busy here in the K-8 media center settling into our new schedule for 2012-13 and we are excited to have your child visit us. Each class in Grades K-5 comes in once a week for a lesson and checkout. Check out the BEA K-8 Media Center website for the links to the sites we use during media time.

The middle school students come into the media center frequently to work on class projects or to check out books. Mrs. Berkner went into English 6, 7, and 8 to talk to each section about using the new library system, Destiny, to find books that interest them.

Volunteers Needed for Scholastic Book Fair!

Mrs. Berkner is looking for volunteers to help with the Scholastic Book Fair that is held on the two nights of Parent/Teacher Conferences (Nov. 15 and Nov. 19). The BEA Media Program receives 50% of the profits back in the form of Scholastic Dollars. This money is then used to purchase new books and equipment for the media centers. It is a great place to pick up new books for your child while supporting your media program. If interested in volunteering, please click here to submit your name and email address to Mrs. Berkner. She will contact you via email with more information.
