Hiawatha Elementary
Week of August 24th
Hello Husky Families-
Tomorrow is the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! We are excited to connect with your child and see them virtually beginning tomorrow, Monday August 24th. Please make sure you have read the email you received last week with your child’s teacher name and important links to access for the first week of school. Every child should be logging into Clever and clicking their teacher's name/picture to connect to the 9:00 a.m. morning meeting. Please remember to use this same link to log into your 1:1 meet and greet time with your child’s teacher.
School Supplies
Our school supply lists are listed on our website for the 2020-2021 school year. These lists are items your child will need when we return to in person instruction. However your child will need some basic supplies to be successful with remote learning. (EX: notebook, pencil, markers, crayons, paper, etc.) We know and understand that many families may be facing financial difficulties during this time. Please contact us if we can be of any assistance in helping you get supplies for your child for remote learning.
The teachers and staff had a great week preparing for the start of Remote Learning. We are all excited to welcome your child back to school and we can’t wait to watch all the student growth this school year. We know the Remote Learning platform may be a challenge for some families and students and we want you to know that Mr. Gonzalez and myself are here to help support you in any way. We are so thankful to have such a supportive Hiawatha community, in order to find success we know how critical it is to continue to strengthen the home-school connection. We look forward to working alongside you this year to help your child succeed. Please always continue to check your email, our website and Facebook page for important details regarding school.
Happy 1st Week of School!

Summer Reading Program
We’d like to invite all families to participate in our summer reading program during June, July, and August. Families can sign up by clicking on the link below and downloading the reading logs from our Summer Reading website. We encourage students to read around 30 minutes each day. Younger children can read on their own, with an adult, or listen to audiobooks. Students who fill out the reading log can submit it each month to summerreading@bsd100.org.
