Humans migrate in response to challenges, risks and opportunities

The children will learn through a variety of learning experiences based on the following lines of inquiry and concepts:

  • Reasons why people migrate (causation)

  • The impact of migration on people and settlements (change)

  • The challenges and opportunities of migration (perspective)

As this is the start of the year we will be focusing on and revisiting our core number skills, with a specific focus on place value: this includes recognizing, ordering, comparing numbers.

We are focusing on narrative within this unit of inquiry and the children will enjoy listening to and writing a migration story.
