OCS Newsletter

December 2021

Dear Families,

If you haven't seen the OCS playground recently, you should stop by. The Dixon family generously donated a monkey bar structure to add to our playground. Right before the Thanksgiving holiday we had community members and district employees volunteering their time to install the structure. Our OCS community is very grateful for this new addition!

The weather is getting colder and hopefully we'll have snow soon. Please remember that your children need a warm coat, hat, and gloves/mittens each day. When the snow arrives they will also need boots and snow pants. You will also notice that your children are bringing their Chromebooks to and from school in case of inclement weather. Our Superintendent of Schools, Kathleen Cuddy-Egbert will alert all families if there is no school due to inclement weather. She will also state whether the snow day will be a remote learning day. When a remote learning day occurs classroom teachers will make sure your child has their schedule and online work for the day. If you have questions regarding a remote learning day please contact your child's classroom teacher.

We have many activities coming up in the months of December and January. Please read below for the details. If you have any questions please call the office, 539-4589.

Holiday Concerts

We are so excited to have in person concerts this year. Each concert will accommodate for physical distancing and all performers and audience members will be required to wear a mask. Please have your child arrive about 15 minutes prior to their performance time. We ask that audience members stay only to watch their child, which will allow the physical distance spacing needed in the gymnasium.

Grades K-2 Concert - Friday, December 10th at 5:30pm

Each grade will be allotted a half hour beginning with Kindergarten at 5:30pm. Grade 1 will perform at 6:00pm and Grade 2 at 6:30pm.

Each grade will be allotted a half hour beginning with Grade 3 at 6:00pm. Grade 4 will perform at 6:30pm, and Chorus at 7:00pm.
