NBMS December Newsletter
Important Events This Week
Leading up to the break, we have a busy week planned. We will administer benchmark tests this week to gauge where students are academically going into the spring semester. This will allow us to focus on areas of need in preparation for state testing. The test schedule is below:
Monday, December 17th: 8th Grade Social Studies
Tuesday, December 18th: 8th Grade Science and 7th Grade Writing
Wednesday, December 19th: 6th, 7th, & 8th Grade Reading
Thursday, December 20th: 6th, 7th, & 8th Grade Math, Algebra 1
Please help your students prepare for benchmarks by getting a good night's sleep and ensuring they have breakfast in the morning. Please remember we provide breakfast in our cafeteria EVERY morning for FREE to EVERYONE. Students may come to the cafeteria from 7:30 - 7:55 to eat.
Once we come back to school on January 9th, I will sit down with every student and look at their scores, strengths, weaknesses, and set some personal goals for them to concentrate on moving forward. We will also revamp our activity period to incorporate time for tutorials.
FRIDAY will be a fun day on campus! We will have PAJAMA DAY! We have an early release day scheduled and will dismiss at 11:35. Students will have class parties in 2nd period and are free to be checked out after those are over at 10:00. Each class has their own plan for the parties depending on what the students chose to do. For students who stay until 11:35, we will show a movie in the cafeteria and have hot chocolate. Lunch will also be provided before we dismiss.
