Robert Hook descovered cells in 1665. He found them in a thin slice of cork he was examining. He named them cells because they reminded him of the ones like people would live in.
Many years of scientists work have made up the cell theory. In 1838 Matthis Schleiden a German scientist found that animals had cells too.

The three parts
1st all living things are made of cells.
2nd cells are the basic unit of life.
3rd all cells are produced from other cells.
