Hampton Bays Middle School
Monday Memo #7
Faculty Meeting Plans
Dear T.E.A.M.
I hope this message finds you all enjoying a relaxing three-day weekend. It was a pleasure visiting classrooms and investing time with our students this week.
I encourage you to take a few minutes to enjoy this month's "Storify" above; a slide show of our images from September. Storify has proven to be an effective tool for sharing what's happening in our school with parents at home. The hope is, one of these photos may just start a great conversation at-home, and you are responsible for helping make that happen. Parents are loving what you're sharing -- so please keep the photos and tweets coming!
Tuesday's Faculty Meeting will allow us all the chance to spend 45 minutes engaged in professional learning. I've shared the framework with our team leaders and it should prove to be fun, engaging, and thought-provoking.
As a refresher, here's what we'd like to have each of you do, from the series of "Smores" so far:
1. Select ONE article, blog, image, OR instructional tool shared in the links that have resonated with you. [One printed hard copy would be appreciated.]
2. Come to our Faculty Meeting prepared to briefly discuss it with colleagues in small-groups. [This will be informal and with a variety of colleagues.]
3. In reflecting on the resource, consider the following questions:
At Hampton Bays Middle School…
1. What is ONE thing we can START to do?
2. What is ONE thing we should CONTINUE to do?
3. What is ONE thing we must STOP doing?
Please see your team leader if you're having trouble retrieving the links to the first six Smore Monday Memos.
More details on our meeting are forthcoming, leading up to Tuesday afternoon...
Thanks for your hard work and dedication to our students and middle school program.
Dennis
