Abortion
Restrictions? yes or no?
Should restrictions be placed on abortion?
Many people can't agree on when life actually begins. Is it at conception, birth, or somewhere in between? It is very important that some restrictions be placed on abortions like making it legal only in cases of rape, incest or threat to the mother's life due to pregnancy. Other restrictions such as, no late-term abortion, sex-section abortion, abortion based on disabilities are needed. The other part of this issue is to stop federal funding of abortion for Medicaid patients.
What is the Republican View?
Donald Trump and Republican's in Congress what to uphold the Hyde Amendment which bans using federal funds to pay for abortion for Medicaid recipients except in cases of rape, incest or threat to the mother's life during pregnancy. They also want a ban on abortions over 20 weeks gestation. Republicans would like to end funding of Planned Parenthood, who are the largest providers of abortion in America.
How the Democrats feel?
Hillary Clinton has been referred to as "most radical pro-abortion presidential candidate ever". She strongly opposes a ban on abortion after the 20th week of pregnancy and wants to expand subsidies for abortions. If elected she would appoint a supreme court justice that "would continue to read the Constitution as protecting abortion". Democrats in Congress seek to repeal the Hyde Amendment.
Organizations That Support Us!
The National Right to Life Committee is strongly opposed to abortion. The organization supports Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton for president due to her strong support of Planned Parenthood. Other pro-life organizations that support this issue are Pro-Life Action League and Americans for Life.
