Cardington Elementary School
Home of the Pirates!
Principal's Notes
Tis the season for growing our Cardington Elementary Family! We have our kindergarten screening just around the corner on April 26th and April 28th. If you have a kindergarten aged child, or know of anyone that does, please stop the office our give us a call! We would love to add your child to the list and welcome them to the Cardington Elementary Family!
For those that are already part of our family, I am including the April and May calendar of events with this communication. These two months are very busy and the staff at Cardington Elementary will work hard to keep you up to date on all the wonderful events that come with the conclusion of another school year! As always, if you have any questions, please let me know and I will do the best I can to help!

Anxiety is the fear and uneasiness adults, and kids alike, experience, as a response to stress. Adults might feel nervous and/or worried, have difficulty sleeping or concentrating, and even experience other physical symptoms. It can manifest itself in other ways in children. If your children are demonstrating some of the signs below, it could be an indicator that they may be experiencing anxiety.
So what can you do to help a child experiencing anxiety? Try talking with your child to see if they can verbalize what is making them feel stressed or worried, and really listen to what they have to say. Breathing exercises, yoga, or the 5-4-3-2-1 method are great ways to help your child (and yourself too) calm down and relax.
