May/June Newsletter

Principal's Message

Hello SES Families,

I hope this newsletter finds everyone healthy and safe. Please know how much we all miss seeing everyone. I can't wait until we can all be together again. I want to thank you for all you are doing to help your children stay connected to their teachers and their distant learning. Please reach out to the school if there is something we can do to help.

Our teachers are working hard to stay connected with their students. You should be hearing from them on a regular basis. If you have not heard from them recently please reach out to the school.

We are currently working on how we want to end the year. There have been talks of another staff parade as well as Mrs. Johnson is working on a slideshow of our year. Once we finalize these plans we will reach out to you with complete details.

Take Care,

Mrs. Moore

Do You Need Something From Your Child's Classroom?

We know that many families have reached out to classroom teachers asking for students' supplies from classrooms. Please remember that even if you have made a request with your child's teacher, you will still need to call the office to arrange a time for pick up. The office is not open so we cannot open the door if you stop by. We ask that you kindly call us between the hours of 9am- - 3pm, Mon.-Fri. to set up a time for pick up. We will set your child's supplies out on the cart which is in front of the main doors. We are required to practice social distancing throughout the school. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Pre-Registration for Returning Students

You should have received your child's registration form in the mail two weeks ago. Please look over the entire form. Make any changes needed such as changes to address, phone numbers, emergency contacts, health details. PLEASE sign EACH page! You may return the form to the school by mail or drop off. A bright yellow box is located outside by the front doors to the school. It will sit out from from 9am-3pm, Monday-Friday. Feel free to return registration forms in this box for your convenience. Returning this form will enroll your child for school next year so it is very important to return it. Please call the school office if you have questions, 503-769-2336.

Kindergarten Registration 2020-21

Now is the time to contact the school for information on enrolling your child for kindergarten! Please also share this information with any friends who may also have a child ready for kindergarten. Keep in mind, each child must be 5 years old by September 1, 2020. He/She must also have one vaccine for each required immunization. We also ask for a copy of the child's birth certificate and if you are a new family to the school we will need to see proof of residence (a phone bill, utility bill, rental agreement, etc.) to make sure that you are enrolling at the correct school per your address.

Please call the school office to receive information on registering. We are currently taking enrollment requests over the phone. Official registration packets will be mailed out in June.

Distance Learning

We are in full swing with on-line learning here at SES! Your child's teacher should be reaching out to you every week. Please remember that distance learning is not optional. The Governor's notice is that ALL students MUST continue school via distance learning.
