Hello Heron Families!

We only have 10 days left with your amazing kids and I don't want to let these days pass by without expressing my sincere appreciation for your support of our school and our staff this year. Hillcrest truly has an incredibly supportive, kind-hearted, and involved group of parents, and your goodwill and cooperative spirit do not go unnoticed by our staff or the students you help us serve. Thank you so much for collaborating with us to provide the safe and supportive environment all kids need in order to learn. Thank you for partnering with us and entrusting us to educate and guide your child this year. I wish you a relaxing and memory-filled summer!

Field Day Is Back and Needs Volunteers!

Our Herons are beyond excited to have Hillcrest Field Day back after two years of missing out on this tradition of fun and sportsmanship! At this time we are in need of approximately 20 more volunteers to cover the 15+ stations and make this a safe day for all our students. The fun happens Wednesday, June 8 and we have openings for two-hour morning shifts (3rd and 4th grade) and two-hour afternoon shifts (Kinder, 1st, and 2nd grade) available. Please consider signing up today!

The Hillcrest PTA is putting together a fun-filled evening to celebrate the end of the school year! Please join us at 6:00 PM on Friday, June 10, 2022, for the "Let's Glow Crazy" Party and Dance!

Music will be provided by DJ Moose while the Mi Taco is Your Taco food truck and Kona Ice truck will be on-site for food if you would like to purchase a meal or treat. Admission is FREE and students must be accompanied by an adult. It should be a memorable evening Herons! Let's Glow!

Walking and Biking to School Parent Survey

Our Green Team is collecting data about how many students and families are walking and biking to Hillcrest! We are interested in encouraging more students to do so, which means we also need to know what the barriers are for students and families. Please share what some of those barriers are and help us brainstorm how we can decrease or support them.

Please take a minute to submit your input for the Hillcrest Walk and Bike to School Survey

purposefull people focus for june

This month we are talking about Cooperation! Cooperation is about making sure we know how to be on a team or work in a group towards a common goal. Here is the definition we are using: Cooperation: Working together and helping others.

We want young people to know how to work hard on their own. Just as importantly, we want them to know what it looks like to be a part of a really supportive, helpful, empowering team. We will be thinking about the skills needed to work together well and how each of us contributes to a group in big and small ways. We will think about our strengths and our areas of growth. We will take part in fun challenges to put our teamwork to the test and grow, together, toward the common goal of a more helpful, kind, cooperative world!
