Wanted
Stanley Kubrick, film director, 1928-1999
Successes
World renowned as one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, Kubrick is most well known for his movies, 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Shining, and Full Metal Jacket. Christopher Nolan, David Fincher, Guillermo del Toro, David Lynch, Lars Von Trier, Michael Mann, The Coen Brothers, Tim Burton, Paul Thomas Anderson, Todd Field, Michael Moore, Frank Darabont, and Gaspar Noé are all filmmakers who claim at least partial inspiration from Stanley Kubrick. He made 11 movies.
Evidence of Carelessness
He frequently abused his cast and crew, many people refer to him making actors take tons of takes continuously without any break in between, and him arguing with cameramen and cinematographers for not doing exactly what he wanted when he wanted it. He now holds two world records, most takes for a single scene (he did 150 takes of the scene in the Shining where Wendy is running from Jack) and longest unbroken movie shoot (He shot Eyes Wide Shut for 400 straight days without any vacation days for himself or the actors).
