Norwood Spring Picture Day Envelopes are here
We finally received envelopes from Lifetouch for Spring pictures and they will be sent home in students’ yellow folders after Spring Break on Tuesday, April 19th. Reminder notices were sent home this week on Wednesday, April 6th, with all the pertinent information as seen below. Families will be able to purchase new individual pictures for their children, except all picture packages now will include a class picture with their teacher. The same exact procedure for ordering pictures will be followed from the Fall, where you either order online using a special Picture ID from the envelope, or manually by filling out the envelope & turning it in with money on the actual picture day. As always, purchases with LifeTouch are not mandatory. All students should come dressed their best since everyone will have a picture taken for student records regardless of whether the family purchases a package. Feel free to watch this video below if you are new to pictures or want a refresher on how to order.

March Coffee & Conversation Wrap-up
Mr. Castro and Mr. Jeremiah would like to thank everyone who came out to participate in our March Coffee & Conversation session in person, which was also our first in-person parent event since schools shut down in March 2020. The topic was how parents can become more involved at the school, where we discussed how to become a parent volunteer, participation in the drafting of the School Progress Plan, the potential formation of a PTA/PTO at Norwood, asking what new or previous events families would like to see held at the school, and Mr. Jermiah gave an important update on the Community School Initiative.
Click on the link below for a 1 page bilingual takeaway guide (in English & Spanish) that summarizes the key points of the meeting with helpful links & resources. Anyone, regardless of whether you attended or not, is welcome to review the takeaway guide. Please do not hesitate to reach out to the school at 443-809-7055 if you are interested in anything that was covered during the session.
Local Summer Theater Program for children
The upcoming summer performance workshop of The Music Man Jr is open to all area children ages 6 - 15 and will run July 18th - August 5th, 2002 at the CCBC Essex campus (7201 Rossville Blvd, Baltimore, MD 21237). The program will run daily, Mon - Fri, from 9:30am - 4pm and costs $650. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration. Food will not be provided, so participants will need to arrive already having had breakfast as well as bring lunch from home. Click here to register, and if you have additional questions, you can email: cpm@ccbcmd.edu
Please turn in updated health forms
The results from the vision and hearing school screenings came in last month. Only if they did not pass hearing, vision, or both should a form have been sent home in your child’s yellow folder. Please take the form to their doctor and have them evaluated. Their doctor can refer them as needed to a specialist. After the doctor or specialist sees your child, please ask them to fill in the bottom part of the form and return it to the school in the student's yellow folder.
We would also like a copy of any updated annual physical exam reports, as well as a report from your child's latest 6-month dental cleaning. Please call the nurse at 443-809-6029 if you have any questions.

Here are the monthly Math unit overviews by grade level, in English and Spanish. The first newsletter of the month will focus on Math while the second newsletter of the month will cover reading & writing skills via English Language Arts (ELA).
