We bring the Sonoran Desert to you!

Big picture

Welcome to Conservancy Kids!

We are so excited to have you with us on this virtual journey of inquiry and place-based learning! Right now we may be social distancing, but we're all connected by the awesomeness of science. We're junior scientists, exploring the natural world, asking questions, and making discoveries. Join us for an adventure that will take you outdoors, around the house, and into the incredible Sonoran Desert. Welcome to Conservancy Kids! We're excited to see you!

Are you an ethologist?

Have you ever watched a bird and observed what it does? Have you looked at your pet and noticed a specific behavior? Guess what? You're an ethologist! Ethology is the study of animal behavior and scientists trying to understand why these behaviors exists.

Luke becomes an ethologist!

Let's be a scientist!

So what do you need to be an ethologist? All you need is an animal to observe! Check out the video Nicole's mom captured in her neighborhood of a large hawk being chased away by a group of smaller birds. What behaviors do you notice the birds exhibiting? Why do you think they're doing that? if you're asking these questions, you're an ethologist!
