2019-2020 School Year 5-10-2020 Update #10
From The Principal
The teachers and staff of Collins would like to thank all of the children and families that reached out and help celebrate Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week. Nurse Kendall also felt the love from our school community. In these unusual times - thank you for your kindness and support of Collins Intermediate.
The plan for distribution of student material is posted below. There is a brief video talking through the process. The maps and directions are also shared after the video.
Currently library and classroom books are being returned.
Medicine distribution is this Thursday, May 14th from 12 Noon - 3 PM.
This is not they way any of us pictured the end of 2019-2020 school year going or ending.
We hope, with all of our hearts that you are able to drive through even if you don't have anything to pick up or drop off. This is our modern day - only in a pandemic - Collins Clap Out!
Wednesday, May 20th and Thursday, May 21st
What if I have children in both 5th and 6th grade?
Should I plan to be there when distribution opens?
Lost and Found Items
Please note: Any items left/lost in classrooms are not included. Please contact your child's learning community or specific teacher if you feel something was lost in the classroom.

Library Book Return
Library Book End of Year procedures
Starting Tuesday May 5, library books can be returned to the front of the school daily between 8am and 3 pm in the marked bins. Please make sure it is a library book and not a classroom title. All Collins books have a barcode sticker on the back of the book and a call number label on the spine of the book. Books will be scanned in at least 24 hours after they are turned in. Overdue/check out notices will be emailed weekly on Monday or Tuesday so that you know what has been accounted for. Also, students can see what books they have checked out any time by accessing their account in Destiny, through the district’s SSO system.
If you need to pay for a lost or damaged book, please write a check made out to Collins Intermediate for the exact amount. You must have a driver’s license number and date of birth on the check. Put the check in an envelope with the student’s name and title of the book you are paying for. Secure the envelope and turn it into the paper packet, work return box, also on the front porch of the school. If you find the library book after you have paid for it, it is yours to keep. Refunds will not be available.
Thanks for a great year and have a wonderful summer!
