Mrs. Howard's News

End of September

Conferences

Conferences will be held next week September 28 - October 1. Please see the signup sheet for when your time is.

I am holding conferences in the conference room in the main building. Since the main doors will be locked I am asking if you can come through the door on the other side of the cafeteria. That way I can easily let you in. If your conference is after 4:00 I believe you can park in the bus loop.

Market Day

Students have been working hard on saving their money, and now it is time for them to reward themselves. However, I need your help!!! If you are able to donate any items for our market day I would appreciate it and the kids would LOVE it. We are going to have our first Market day on Friday, October 2 in the afternoon. If you can, could you bring in the items before the second that way I can have time correctly price the items.

Items of interest are:

  • CANDY! (War Heads, Pixy sticks, Candy Bars, Gum )
  • Small stuffed animals
  • Mechanical pencils
  • Lead for pencils
  • Sports balls
  • Silly putty
  • Posters
  • Nail polish

Great places to find items are at the dollar section at Target, Dollar Tree, Walmart, etc.

I thank you in advance.

Spelling

Students took their first Morphology test today on the prefixes div- and multi-.

Just as a reminder, students who scored 85% or below will need to study only the words that they missed and have to know how to spell them next Friday. They will have these words in addition to next weeks Flocabulary. By doing this, it encourages students to practice their words and study. Just as a note, students choose what list they thought was best for them.

Graded spelling lists went home in Thursday folders and I asked for the students to write down the words that they missed over the weekend and then bring back their list on Monday.
