Irritable Bowel Syndrom
The reason IBS happens isn't clear. It can occur after an infection of the intestines. The intestine is connected to the brain. Signals go back and forth between the bowel and brain. These signals affect bowel function and symptoms. Symptom are abdominal pain, gas, fullness, bloating. The goal of treatment is to relive pain and symptoms. Avoid foods and drinks that stimulate the intestines, smaller meals, increasing fiber in the diet. To prevent getting IBS drink about 8 oz. of water everyday and gradually boost fiber intake.
