Teacher Appreciation Week
Dr. Jared Cleveland Message to Teachers
When I was growing up one of the teachers that impacted my life was my 1st grade teacher- Ms. Pat Newborn. She had a cleft lip like mine. She made sure I knew how to read and have confidence in myself. She helped me realize I am different in a good way and I have carried that confidence with me for the rest of my life.
In Springdale Schools we have 1900 teachers who make an impact on our 23,000 students daily. You are our student’s “Ms. Pat Newborn”
Take a moment and think about a teacher who impacted your life. We all have one. Teachers are among the most influential people in our lives. Teachers help us find purpose, passion, possibilities and potential. Teachers unlock the “why” in students and help students discover the wonder of learning.
This week is teacher appreciation week but we appreciate you everyday! We all know that teachers are laying the foundation for the future and because of the teachers in Springdale, I know the future is brighter than ever before. You are the ones that build minds that think, hands that serve and hearts that care. You are the best of the best! You are loved, appreciated, and our students are your legacy.
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

LET'S CELEBRATE SOME OF THE TEACHERS OF THE YEAR FROM AROUND THE DISTRICT
Natalie Davey 10th Grade English HBHS Natalie is a second year teacher at HBHS. In her short time at HBHS, she's made a positive impact on our staff and also on our students. Her personality and positivity is contagious. When you walk into her classroom, you can feel the love and respect that she has for her students. A student may not love English, but for Mrs. Davey, they perform and do their best. Aside from being a 10th grade English teacher, she also serves as a Student Council sponsor. Through her leadership, she's been able to implement new traditions and continue improving others that are important to our school. Har-Ber is beyond blessed to have teachers like Natalie Davey in our building. | Omar Alonzo, Southwest Junior High band director. We are so proud of our teacher of the year! We wholeheartedly agree with one of his colleagues who shared “Mr. Omar Alonzo is an OUTSTANDING teacher! Students and staff alike love him because he honestly cares about them as individuals. During this pandemic year he has worked tirelessly to make sure that students are safe in class (by meticulously following the very specific band safety protocols), and that the level of rigor in each of the band classes has not diminished. He puts in many extra hours after school and on the weekends, often not leaving school until 6 or 7 at night while also working Saturday school on the weekends. He is an outstanding role model and encourager for our students, and it is obvious that he not only makes them better musicians but better people overall.” | Ms. Jean Marie Hill, Instructional Facilitator at HTMS Miss Hill was Helen Tyson Middle School‘s Teacher of the Year. She is an instructional facilitator at HTMS and goes above and beyond as a servant leader for every teacher, every staff member, every student, and all of our Hornet families. Ms. Hill makes a difference!!! |
