SHOPPING FOR Athens City Schools Foundation
Although the Athens City Schools Foundation encourages shopping in Athens before going out of town or shopping online, it is understandable that sometimes that cannot be done.
When shopping online at AmazonSmile, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% for eligible purchases to the Athens City Schools Foundation! By simply selecting the Athens City Schools Foundation as your charitable organization when making your purchase, you are helping teachers and students in Athens City!
When shopping at smile.amazon.com, you will find the same prices and selection as Amazon.com, with the added bonus of a portion of the purchase price going to the Athens City Schools Foundation. It is a win for everyone!

Thank you, and happy shopping!

Letter from Mrs. Barkley - AMS Grading Procedure Document
Dear AMS Parents and Guardians,
I am excited to share with you today the AMS Grading Procedure document that the AMS staff and administration developed and will be implemented this semester.
As we began 2nd semester, the teachers and administration felt that there was a need to "shore up" our grading practices across all content areas. Our students need consistency and accuracy that will truly reflect what they have or have not mastered in regards to the standards that we are teaching.
We (Admin. and Teachers) came together on Jan. 2 and participated in professional development/collaboration time regarding our grading practices. As we worked together over these last few weeks, we developed an AMS Grading Procedure document that we feel provides our students and parents with an complete picture of our purpose in grading, how we will grade, and what is expected from students. We believe this will provide fair and consistent grading practices for ALL students across all content areas at AMS.
This document includes the following topics:
Our Purpose and Belief
Grade Explanations and Definitions
How grades are calculated
Re-Assessment Procedures
Make Up Work
Honor
Reporting of Grades
Promotion/Retention and Summer School
You may find the full document on the AMS Website under school publications or by using this link:
