Stone Bank School

Reaching Out- September 11, 2015

Principal's Note

Dear Stone Bank Families:

Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year! I hope you had a fun and relaxing summer! As much as I love the summer, it's always nice to see the students return to school. Especially this school year.

I began my career teaching in a K-8 school similar to Stone Bank. After 8 years, I moved to an administrative role as a Middle Level Associate Principal in the Muskego-Norway school district. During my years at MNSD, I worked at both Lake Denoon and Bay Lane middle schools. In 2007, I moved to the Whitnall School District where I was the Principal at Whitnall Middle School until arriving here at Stone Bank.

My husband and I live in Oconomowoc with our three children who are 15, 13, and 10. Like many of you, they keep us busy with their activities and interests. When I have free time, I enjoy reading, sewing, crafting, and cooking.

I'm so excited to join the Stone Bank team. I look forward to working with your family and watching your children learn and grow during their years at Stone Bank. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or concerns. Phone: 966-2900x4070, or email:

Mrs. Lynn Davies

Stone Bank Principal

The student day begins at 7:35am. Students arriving after this time will be considered tardy to school. All students arriving late to school or leaving early must report to the office for a pass back to class.

Please call the office by 8:00am to excuse your child when they're ill. Students who have been ill for three or more days need to submit a doctor's excuse following their absence.

Family Vacations:

Please notify the main office if your child will be absent due to a family vacation. Parents/students should work with their teachers to make arrangements for schoolwork missed during their absence.

In accordance with Wisconsin State Law, Section 118.15, all students are required to attend school regularly on a consistent and timely basis. If a student is absent from school without an acceptable excuse for part or all of five or more days per semester, a petition may be filed with the juvenile system.

Picture Re-take Day

Empire photography will be here on Thursday, September 24th to take pictures of those students who were unable to attend open house in August. Additionally, student re-takes will be conducted at this time also. If your child will have their picture retaken, please send their entire picture package to school with them on that day.

Bus Notes

If you have concerns about your child's bus route, please contact school if your concern is related to student behavior. If you have questions or concerns about the route, please contact Dousman Transportation at 262-966-9690.

District students wishing to ride the bus home with a friend on a particular day, must present a parent note to the office for approval. Students may not ride a different bus, or get off at a different stop unless a note of approval is presented to the bus driver. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Family Game Night

Stone Bank PTO will sponsor a family game night on September 18, 2015.

Stop in to play "Bingo for Books" in the school cafeteria. Dinner of Rocky's pizza and breadsticks will be available (pre-orders are required) at 6pm. Bingo begins at 6:30pm. Families can come for dinner and bingo, or just bingo. Please follow the link below for more information

Notes from the Kitchen...

The kitchen staff has been very busy over the summer planning for the new school year. Our menu has a new look as well as some exciting changes and additions. We will continue to offer some of the students' favorite entrees, but we are also adding some new entrees that we hope they will try. Please take a few minutes to go over the menu each week to help your child make their choices, and perhaps encourage them to try something new! Please follow the link for more information:

Arrowhead Grade School Cross Country Run

A cross country run will be held for Arrowhead area grade school students on Friday, October 2nd. Students in grades 4K-8 are eligible to participate. Please see Mrs. Vance to register for the event. Follow the link for more information

How to stay in touch with school

In an effort to reach all families we are expanding our means of communication. This newsletter will be sent home electronically 1-2 times per month. Skylert messages will be sent with time sensitive announcements. If you are not receiving Skylert messages or do not have a Skyward login, please contact the main office. Someone would be happy to assist you in setting that up. Our website is also updated regularly. New this year is our Facebook page, be sure to stop by and see what's been happening at school. General information and reminders will be posted on our Facebook page. Twitter users can also follow us for general information and updates. As always, you are welcome to contact the main office or your child's teacher if you are unable to find the information you need.
