PVE Weekly Note
Week of February 23rd
Last Week of February!
Thursday we will be marking our yearly Kokomo Beach Day Celebration. For new folks, this is a fun day to dress in your favorite Hawaiian shirt. Our students will eat a picnic lunch on beach towels in the cafe and Dan and I will MC with Beach music and prizes. Fun time to celebrate!
PVE will be receiving a site visit review from the Department of Education on Monday. This will be in regards to our application to become a certified STEM School. Either Mr. Layton or myself will be with them for the entire time on campus.
In celebrations this week, I wanted to acknowledge Kasey Cope's class and the presentation they created for the next grant they are pursuing. I was able to sit in as a "mock" board in their parent rehearsal. Of note, when we asked the students questions, they never looked to Kasey for answers......they looked to each other. Small thing that means much in my book.
Thank you to all for a great PD Day last Monday. Special thanks to our PVE presenters and Boone Meadow for hosting. What a great day of professional conversation!
I am keeping this note short for this edition. I have been in bed all day nursing a fever of 101. The past 7-8 days I have battled an off again, on again flu like bug. This past Friday, I was fine but my wife and two kids had the flu. It seems as though we have traded back and forth. Ugh!! I am turning in early and not sure on my status for tomorrow. I would like to give a special thank you to Dan, Kristen, Tammy, Ronda, Tracy and Liz. This office team is great and I know they have each been going above and beyond in many ways. Specifically, assisting me with needs the past few days. Thank you!
Look for the calendar of the week ahead from Dan. Of note, we will be operating on a 2-hour delay on Monday.
I wish you safe and healthy week ahead! -Chad
