Back to School Protocols for 2021-2022

In a message to all families on June 15th, it was shared the BCSC Board of School Trustees voted unanimously to approve:

  • Only in-person instruction will be offered for the 2021-2022 school year. BCSC will not offer an online option for students.
  • Effective July 1, 2021 face coverings/masks will be optional on the BCSC campus.

In accordance with a federal mandate from the Department of Transportation, masks will be required on BCSC school buses. This includes transportation to and from school, extra curricular activities and any time a BCSC bus includes passengers. Bus drivers may remove their masks when there are no passengers on the bus.

Free & Reduced App for Curricular Materials Opens Today - Free School Meals for All - EXTENDED

The free and reduced-price meal application for the 2021-22 school year is now available. It is important to note that a new application must be completed every year. Please complete one application per household. While meals will be free for all students again this year (more below), it is important for families to complete this process as it could have an impact on the assessment of curricular material fees or other billing items throughout the year.

Some families are pre-qualified to receive free or reduced-price meal benefits and would have already received a direct certification letter in the mail, within the last five (5) days from the Nutrition Services department. If your family has already received a letter indicating you are pre-qualified for free meal benefits, please do not complete a meal application. If your family has received a letter indicating you are pre-qualified for reduced-price meal benefits, you may complete a meal application if you believe your family qualifies for free meals.

Please contact Nutrition Services at (317) 852-5726 x2095 or with any questions.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) oversees all school meal programs throughout the country. The USDA has approved waivers that allow Brownsburg Community School Corporation to offer free meals – breakfast and lunch – to all students regardless of their current meal eligibility. This means that any BCSC student can receive school breakfast AND lunch free of charge for the ENTIRE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR! A la carte items (food and beverages) will still be available at full price.
