Hello Tigers!
Last week, two of our school clubs helped out the people of Ukraine by raising money and collecting supplies for those in need. See the picture below of the Latinos Unidos club and their donations from the school community. The student council also sponsored a penny war competition for all advisories and raised almost $1000 to send to help those in need.
SAT & PSAT School Day Testing - April 13, 2022
On April 13 all 9-11 grade students will participate in either the PSAT 8/9, PSAT 10 or SAT assessment. The SAT is a graduation requirement in the state of Illinois. There will be an adjusted schedule for this day as all students will be testing. Seniors that took the SAT last year will be excused from attendance on this day. Please see the attached schedule for more details. If your child has certain accommodations, they may be testing over two days and will continue their test on Thursday, April 14. Please reach out to your child's case manager for specific information on your child.

Social Work Update
West 40, a community agency servicing school districts in western Cook County (including Elmwood Park Community Unit School District 401) has a monthly Family Engagement Network meeting. This space is an opportunity for families to connect and share resources. More information about the Family Engagement Network can be found HERE. Additionally, West40 is having a West40 Wide (West Cook County) Mental Health Parent Night on April 13th in Spanish. Riveredge Hospital will be giving a presentation, "How to support your child. The event has a focus on signs of suicide and depression. Parents will have the opportunity to ask questions. This is also a hybrid event; Casa Esperanza is hosting at their Lady of Mt Carmel Gymnasium. And childcare will be provided for children in attendance. The info is on the flyer.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) will be visiting EPHS on Thursday, April 14th and presenting to all sections of Kinetic Wellness classes on Ending the Silence around mental health. In this evidence-based presentation, students will learn how to identify the warning signs and symptoms of mental health conditions, normalize discussions around mental health at school, and teach students how to reach out to adults for support. This presentation will include a personal recovery story from a young person who is successfully living with a mental health condition. All presentations will take place in the auditorium. All families of students who are scheduled to hear this presentation will be sent a passive consent form.
The Elmwood Park Community Clothes Closet is open every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month from 10am-noon. All clothes are completely FREE. If you would like to make a donation, clothing drop offs take place at the same time. *There are prom dresses available for students who may need one* For more information, contact Debbie at (708) 970-7695.
Prom 2022
Attention all EPHS juniors and seniors!
Prom will be held on April 29, 2022 from 7:00-10:30 at Cafe La Cave in Des Plaines, Illinois, with doors opening at 6:30.
- Tickets will be sold after school during the week of April 14-20 in Room 172 for $65 per ticket or $130 per couple.
- Prom tickets may only be purchased by a junior or senior EPHS student who is passing at least 4 classes and has no outstanding school fees, 8th hours, or debts.
- In order to purchase a ticket, each student must also present an EPHS student ID.
- All guests who are non-EPHS students or are Sophomore or Freshman EPHS students must be approved through the Dean’s Office Request Form and must be 19 years of age or younger.
- Included in each ticket is parking for one vehicle, dinner, and dancing.
Additionally, please watch your email for two important surveys: Prom Court and Music Suggestions. These will be upcoming.
